Dr Renos Karamanis undertook his PhD studies in the Centre for Transport studies from October 2015 to October 2020. During his PhD studies, he has been affiliated with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Sustainable Civil Engineering.
His research area focuses on ride-sourcing and how it can be transformed by the introduction of Autonomous Vehicles(AVs). Renos is particularly interested in developing optimization algorithms and simulation tools of AV ride-sourcing fleets to assist policy makers, operators and researchers. Inbetween his PhD research Dr Karamanis has also worked on the SHIFT project alongside Oxbotica and TfL for a year.
Dr Karamanis is currently working as a Quantitative Modeller in the Fintech industry and he is also a Visiting Research Associate at the Transport Systems and Logistics Laboratory.
